Afrah Al Shabbah, MSN, BScN is a dedicated Clinical Resource Nurse at Al Rahba Hospital in Abu Dhabi, UAE, where she leads critical initiatives in nursing education, quality improvement, and patient safety. She holds a Master of Quality and Safety in Healthcare Management from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, graduating with second-class honors in 2019, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with first-class honors from Fatima College of Health Sciences in affiliation with Griffith University, Australia.

In her current role, Afrah plans, implements, and evaluates a wide range of educational programs for nurses, covering orientation, competency development, infection control, and advanced resuscitation skills. She is compassionate and dedicated dialysis nurse making impact on patients with kidney disease with over 23 years of experience. She believes that nursing is more than just a job, it is a calling.
Charlyn is committed to professional development. Her journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, followed by continuous professional development and graduated her Master of Science in Renal Nursing (MSc) degree from De Montfort University, Leicester, United Kingdom. She graduated her Masteral programme with Merit in 2017. One of her achievements was when she submitted abstract during the 47th EDTNA/ERCA International Conference in Italy and was accepted as poster presentation in 2018. My name is Danielle Ann Tan, and I’ve always believed in the power of storytelling. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism in the Philippines and began my career as a communications specialist. Writing, connecting with people, and capturing moments—whether through words or photography—have always been at the heart of who I am.
When I moved to the UAE to be with my family, I found myself stepping into a completely different world: the healthcare industry. It was a difficult transition at first. I felt like I was leaving behind the identity I had carefully built. But over time, through many meaningful encounters with patients and colleagues, I discovered a deeper purpose in what I do.
For the past six years, I’ve continued to grow within the healthcare sector. Today, I work at SEHA as an admin assistant—a role that has given me both fulfilment and stability. While it’s different from where I started, I’ve come to appreciate that storytelling doesn’t always happen through pen and paper. Sometimes, it’s in the small, unseen moments of helping others, listening, and simply being present.

Florence Marzo Rimando, bringing over 25 years of dedicated service to the healthcare sector, I currently serve as an Administration Officer in the Nursing Administration Department at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City. My journey in healthcare administration began on December 19, 1998, when I joined the Ministry of Health. In March 2004, I transitioned to Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, where I have continued to contribute to the operational and strategic support of nursing services.

In May 2015, I earned my Master’s degree in Management, a milestone that deepened my understanding of leadership, organizational development, and healthcare operations. This academic achievement complements my extensive hands-on experience and fuels my commitment to excellence in healthcare delivery.

Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a strong sense of purpose, resilience, and adaptability—qualities that have enabled me to support both clinical teams and administrative goals effectively. Hebah Algaishi is a dedicated nursing professional with over 9 years of diverse experience in clinical practice, case coordination, and healthcare leadership. She began her career as a Registered Nurse in medical-surgical units, where she gained extensive hands-on expertise in patient care and clinical decision-making. Her passion for improving healthcare systems led her to transition into case management and later into the Corporate Nursing Office at SEHA, where she plays a key role in advancing nursing excellence across the organization.

Currently, Hebah serves as a Nursing Education and Professional Development Specialist, focusing on enhancing nursing documentation standards, designing and implementing evidence-based education programs, and leading initiatives that empower nurses through continuous learning and career advancement. Known for her commitment, collaboration, and innovative approach, Hebah strives to elevate nursing practice and contribute to the growth and professionalization of the nursing workforce in the UAE.

Iyad Abumettleq is a distinguished healthcare leader currently serving as the Senior Corporate Allied Health Officer at Abu Dhabi Healthcare Services (SEHA) since October 2020. With a wealth of experience in clinical governance, quality management, and the advancement of allied health, Iyad plays a crucial role in enhancing healthcare delivery across the SEHA network.

In his position, he is responsible for designing and implementing clinical competency frameworks for allied health professionals, including those in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. His expertise encompasses the development of effective management systems, leading competency-based training initiatives, and ensuring adherence to international standards such as JCIA, CARF, and NIAHO.
Iyad excels in executing quality improvement initiatives using the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) methodology and oversees patient satisfaction surveys, risk assessments, and safety audits. Sheikha Al Shemeili is a distinguished Emirati nurse leader and the Unit Manager of the Adult Critical Care Unit at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC). With over a decade of experience in critical care, Sheikha has held progressive leadership roles within SEHA, including Acting Unit Manager and Charge Nurse at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC).

A passionate advocate for excellence in nursing, Sheikha holds a Master’s degree in Adult Critical Care, a Diploma in Leadership for Change, and is a graduate of elite leadership programs such as Pure Health’s Emirati Development Center and the Nursing Legacy: Building Future Leaders. She currently serves as the Program Director for the SEHA Adult Critical Care Residency Program, where she mentors the next generation of critical care nurses.

Her accomplishments include leading major clinical initiatives such as the ABCDEF Bundle in ICU care, developing post-liver transplant workflows, and conducting JCIA readiness assessments. In 2025, she published research on “The Relationship Between Emotional Intelligence and Safety Performance of Critical Care Nurses,” contributing to the global body of nursing knowledge.

Sheikha was honored as “ملهمة اليوم (Inspiration of the Day)” by the General Women’s Union, recognizing her as a role model for Emirati women. She also chairs the Emiratization Committee at SKMC and continues to drive innovation, excellence, and national capacity-building in healthcare.

Suhad Issa Marjei, Bringing over 25 years of experience in patient, family and staff education, I currently work as the Nursing Research and Education Department acting manager at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

I graduated from Jordan University of Science and Technology and obtained a bachelor degree in Nursing Science, and obtained different post graduate diplomas in diabetes education.

My journey in diabetes education started in reputative hospitals in Jordan and UAE, where I advocated for patients and the community.
I joined SKMC in 2000 and brought with me skills and experience in diabetes education and program development. In 2008, my scope got widwened when I was promoted to a clinical resource nurse .In 2022 I led the nursing research and education department in SKMC.

I am committed to improving nursing professional development and led lots of professional development activities and projects for nurses in SKMC, such as nursing orientation, charge nurse program, succession planning program, and diabetes link nurses programs. I am also actively involved in nursing and health science students clinical placement program and internship. On SEHA Level, I cover the responssibilities of “SEHA Nursing and Midwifery Clinical Practice & Professional Development” Committee and the “SEHA Diabetes Education Advisory Group” as a chair of both committees.

Community awareness and outreach is another area of experience for me as I commenced lots of community programs, such as “SKMC, We Care” Project and “Abu Dhabi ADNOC Marathon”
